How to Use a Token Watchlist for Trading

TL;DR

A watchlist is a curated list of tokens you’re monitoring for potential trades, with price tracking and alerts to notify you when conditions for entry or exit are met.

Why Use a Watchlist

With thousands of tokens launching daily on Solana, staying organized is essential. A watchlist lets you track tokens you’ve researched but haven’t bought yet, tokens you’re waiting to enter at a better price, and tokens you’ve sold but might re-enter. Without a watchlist, you’re either FOMO-buying everything that moves or missing opportunities you identified earlier.

Building Your Watchlist

Add tokens from: Deployer Hunter alerts (promising deployers’ new tokens), CTO Radar (community takeovers gaining momentum), social media mentions backed by on-chain validation, and tokens approaching technical levels you’re interested in. MadeOnSol’s watchlist feature lets you save tokens and get notified of significant events like large holder changes, volume spikes, or graduating from bonding curves.

Watchlist vs Active Positions

Keep your watchlist separate from your active holdings. Watchlist = research mode (haven’t committed capital). Active = execution mode (capital deployed). Move tokens from watchlist to active only when your entry criteria are met. This prevents impulsive buying and ensures every trade has pre-defined reasoning. Review and clean your watchlist regularly — remove dead tokens and add new prospects.
