What HoodDomains actually does.

HoodDomains is the .hood naming service for Robinhood Chain, an ENS-style registrar where each name is an ERC-721 held in your own wallet. Its distinguishing technical choice is that every domain is a fully on-chain SVG: both the artwork and the records live in the contract, with no image hosting anywhere. Names are priced by character length starting at 0.012 ETH per year, with multi-year discounts of up to roughly 44 percent, and trade on a zero-fee secondary marketplace as well as OpenSea. Beyond resolution, each name ships with an embedded wallet and doubles as an x402 payment endpoint, so people, APIs and autonomous agents can settle stablecoin payments by name rather than by address. The same team also operates Hoodscan, an independent open block explorer for the chain.

  • Almost the entire token thesis is unshipped — staking and revenue sharing are not live, and messaging and social features remain roadmap items
  • Effectively no usage yet, with only a few hundred dollars of daily volume, and no published audit report despite one being claimed
