Overview

What Hummingbot actually does.

Hummingbot is an open-source cryptocurrency trading bot framework that enables users to run market making, arbitrage, and custom trading strategies across centralized and decentralized exchanges. The platform supports Solana through gateway connectors, allowing automated trading on Solana DEXes. Unlike hosted trading bot services, Hummingbot runs on your own infrastructure, giving you full control over your trading strategies and private keys. The framework supports connecting to Solana DEXes through its gateway architecture, enabling on-chain market making and cross-exchange arbitrage. Hummingbot's strategy library includes pure market making (providing liquidity and earning the spread), cross-exchange market making (arbitraging price differences between exchanges), and Avellaneda market making (a mathematically optimal approach). Users can also create custom strategies using Python. The platform has a strong community of quantitative traders who share strategies, optimize configurations, and contribute to the open-source codebase. For technically-inclined Solana traders who want to build and run their own trading bots, Hummingbot provides the most flexible and transparent framework available.
