Overview

What Kalshi actually does.

Kalshi is a CFTC-regulated US prediction market where users trade event contracts on real-world questions such as elections, economic data, weather, and sports. Its connection to Solana is a recent extension rather than its core architecture. The primary product is a federally regulated exchange offering binary event contracts. In late 2025, Kalshi launched tokenized versions of its markets on Solana through integrations with DFlow and Jupiter, representing outcome positions as SPL tokens that can be traded across Solana DeFi via a hybrid RFQ system that settles on-chain. It suits traders who want regulated event contracts plus, optionally, composable on-chain exposure. Be clear-eyed about the split: the regulated exchange and the Solana tokenization layer are distinct, the on-chain product is new, and access and regulatory treatment vary by jurisdiction. Event trading carries real financial risk.
