Overview

What Light Protocol actually does.

Light Protocol is a zero-knowledge compression framework for Solana that dramatically reduces on-chain storage costs by compressing account state into Merkle trees verified by ZK proofs. Instead of paying for full Solana accounts, developers use compressed accounts that cost up to 1,000x less — enabling applications like mass airdrops, social feeds, and gaming inventories that would be economically infeasible on standard Solana. Light Protocol is a core infrastructure primitive backed by the Solana Foundation.
