What Parcl actually does.

Parcl is a unique DeFi protocol on Solana that allows users to trade perpetual futures on real estate price indices. It brings real-world real estate exposure to DeFi, enabling traders to go long or short on property prices in major cities without owning physical real estate. The protocol creates synthetic price indices for real estate markets in cities like Miami, New York, Los Angeles, and others, powered by Parcl Labs' proprietary real estate data feeds. Traders can take leveraged long or short positions on these indices, expressing views on whether property values in specific cities will increase or decrease. This novel approach brings a massive asset class — global real estate — to on-chain trading for the first time. Real estate traditionally requires enormous capital, has high transaction costs, and is illiquid. Parcl makes real estate price exposure accessible, liquid, and tradeable with amounts starting from a few dollars. The PRCL governance token provides voting rights over protocol parameters and market additions. Parcl has attracted attention as one of the most innovative DeFi protocols on Solana, offering exposure to a real-world asset class that no other on-chain protocol provides.
