Overview

What Rain.fi actually does.

Rain.fi is a peer-to-peer lending marketplace on Solana where borrowers can take loans against their tokens and NFTs without the risk of price-based liquidation. Instead of traditional oracle-driven liquidations that can wipe out positions during flash crashes, Rain uses time-based loan expiration. Borrowers set their desired loan terms — amount, duration, and interest rate — and lenders fund loans they find attractive. If the borrower doesn't repay by the loan expiration date, the lender receives the collateral. This eliminates the cascading liquidation problem that has caused millions in losses on other lending protocols. Rain supports both fungible tokens and NFTs as collateral, making it one of the few Solana lending platforms where NFT holders can access liquidity without selling their assets. The protocol was acquired by Jupiter at Solana Breakpoint 2025, confirming its long-term viability and potential integration with the Jupiter ecosystem. For borrowers who want to access liquidity without liquidation risk during volatile markets, and for lenders seeking fixed-duration, fixed-rate yields, Rain provides a straightforward peer-to-peer marketplace.
