Overview

What Star Atlas actually does.

Star Atlas is a grand strategy space exploration massively multiplayer online game (MMO) built on the Solana blockchain. Set in the year 2620, players explore a vast open universe, mine resources, engage in territorial conquest, and trade in-game NFT assets on decentralized marketplaces. The game features cinema-quality graphics powered by Unreal Engine 5, a deep crafting system, faction-based governance, and a player-driven economy where all ships, crew, land, and equipment are tokenized as Solana NFTs. Star Atlas uses two tokens: ATLAS (in-game currency) and POLIS (governance). The project has been in active development since 2021 and continues to release modular game experiences including the SAGE Labs on-chain strategy game. Star Atlas is one of the most ambitious blockchain gaming projects, combining AAA game development with Solana's high-speed, low-cost infrastructure for real-time in-game transactions.
