Overview

What XNET Mobile actually does.

XNET is building a decentralized mobile network that delivers real LTE and 5G coverage using CBRS small cells. It applies the DePIN model to telecom: independent node operators deploy hardware to expand coverage and earn XNET tokens, while end users get affordable mobile data over the resulting network. What sets XNET apart from many DePIN projects is that it provides carrier-grade connectivity through licensed spectrum, rather than best-effort wireless. That distinction matters for reliability and is central to its pitch of being a genuine alternative to traditional mobile infrastructure rather than a hobbyist mesh. The two-sided design aligns incentives: operators are rewarded for deploying and running small cells where coverage is needed, and users benefit from lower-cost data. Built on Solana, the token rewards and network economics settle on a fast, low-fee chain suited to frequent micro-rewards. The trade-off is that XNET is hardware-dependent: meaningful participation as an operator requires deploying physical small cells, which involves real cost, siting, and effort. Coverage is necessarily a function of where operators have deployed, so availability will be uneven as the network grows.
