Overview

What Chainflip actually does.

Chainflip is a decentralized cross-chain swap protocol that lets users trade native assets across blockchains, including Solana, Bitcoin, and Ethereum, without bridges or wrapped tokens. Its hook is moving between native assets directly, with no KYC. Chainflip runs its own Substrate-based State Chain that handles swap logic and accounting while the actual assets move natively on each supported chain. A set of validators collectively controls on-chain vaults using FROST threshold signatures, requiring a supermajority to sign. Liquidity providers fund pools, and an AMM determines pricing as assets flow from one pool to another. It targets traders and liquidity providers who want native cross-chain swaps and BTC holders seeking yield without wrapping. Honest caveat: Chainflip is a multi-chain protocol where Solana is one of several networks, and cross-chain swaps depend on validator and threshold-signature security, which carries its own risk profile.
