Overview

What Covalent actually does.

Covalent is the company and infrastructure behind a unified multi-chain blockchain data API, positioned as a modular data layer for on-chain applications and AI. For developers, the consumable product is GoldRush, its hosted data API brand (the API was formerly branded as Covalent). The underlying indexing network powers a consistent multi-chain schema delivered through GoldRush's REST API, SDK, CLI, and streaming endpoints, covering wallet balances, transaction history, token pricing, and decoded events across 50+ networks. Covalent's broader positioning emphasizes data verifiability, long-term availability, and AI use cases, and it is also distributed via third-party marketplaces. It targets developers, analysts, enterprises, and increasingly AI and agent use cases. Honest caveat: the platform is EVM-first and multi-chain, so Solana is one of many supported chains rather than a focus. The branding is also confusing by design: Covalent is the parent and infrastructure brand while GoldRush is the actual developer product, and the SDK package still carries the Covalent name.
