High volume looks healthy. People see it and assume the token's fine. It's not the same thing as liquidity, and mixing the two up is how people get caught off guard. Volume just tells you how much traded, in either direction, over some window of time. It doesn't tell you what's sitting in the pool right now, ready to absorb your order. That's liquidity. Different number, different job. Here's where it actually bites: • A token can do millions in daily volume and still have a liquidity pool worth a fraction of that. • Most of that "volume" is just the same money going in circles, bots and flippers trading back and forth, inflating the number without adding any real depth underneath it.
