Overview

What Global Dollar (USDG) actually does.

Global Dollar Network is the ecosystem behind USDG, a stablecoin issued by Paxos through two regulated entities: Paxos Digital Singapore, supervised by Singapore's Monetary Authority, and Paxos Issuance Europe, supervised under FIN-FSA and MiCA rules. USDG is backed one-to-one by cash and US Treasuries and is redeemable from Paxos, with monthly reserve attestations providing transparency into that backing. Robinhood Chain selected USDG as its native stablecoin, making it the first stablecoin natively issued on the network rather than bridged in from elsewhere, and it is also the default asset in Robinhood Earn, the chain's lending product, which targets roughly 7 percent APY through DeFi lending. As of the most recent figures, USDG accounts for roughly 68 percent of the stablecoin supply on Robinhood Chain, with total on-chain supply north of 300 million dollars, ahead of USDC and Tether on the network. The Global Dollar Network's broader model is built around a revenue-sharing structure: partners that hold, mint or accept USDG earn holding rewards, minting revenue and acceptance incentives, a deliberate contrast to stablecoins where all revenue accrues to the issuer alone, and that yield-sharing design is part of why Robinhood picked it as RHC's default asset over incumbents.
