Overview

What JPool actually does.

JPool is a liquid staking protocol on Solana that lets users stake SOL and receive JSOL, a token that stays liquid while the underlying SOL keeps earning staking rewards. The hook: keep your stake working in DeFi instead of locking it up. When you deposit SOL, JPool delegates it across a set of validators selected by an automated delegation strategy that aims to favor well-performing validators while spreading stake to support network decentralization. JPool is built on Solana Labs' Stake Pool Program, and JSOL accrues value over time as rewards compound, so it can be held, transferred, traded, or used as collateral elsewhere. It suits SOL holders who want staking yield without giving up liquidity, plus DeFi users who want a yield-bearing asset. Caveats: liquid staking carries smart-contract risk, possible JSOL/SOL price divergence on secondary markets, and validator slashing exposure; JPool is also one of several competing Solana LSTs rather than the largest.
