What Lighter actually does.

Lighter runs a dedicated Robinhood Chain instance providing perpetual futures quoted in USDG, and it is the venue behind the native perpetuals experience inside Robinhood Wallet. Its distinguishing feature on this chain is collateral: tokenized stock tokens such as NVDA, GOOG and AAPL can be posted as margin, which makes it the only venue where an equity position and a derivatives position can share the same on-chain balance sheet. Lighter was a launch partner for the chain and committed a substantial token allocation to Robinhood Chain users. Because perpetuals liquidity on the network is otherwise close to non-existent, Lighter is effectively the derivatives layer for chain 4663 rather than one option among several, which also means its funding rates are the reference signal for directional positioning on Robinhood Chain assets.
