Overview

What Meridian actually does.

Meridian is a derivatives platform on Robinhood Chain that combines two products: mPerps, a perpetual futures exchange, and a prediction-markets venue for trading outcomes on events, both settled in the USDe stablecoin. It was a day-one ecosystem partner when Robinhood Chain's mainnet launched in July 2026, and the platform was previously known as Ethereal before rebranding to Meridian in May 2026 as it shifted focus from general-purpose derivatives infrastructure toward real-world-asset and prediction-market products specifically. On the prediction-markets side, Meridian uses RFQ (request-for-quote) auctions, where competing market makers bid to take the other side of a user's prediction at the best available odds, with the resulting position settled onchain by smart contract rather than through a centralized order book. Users can build single predictions or combine several into a combinatoric bet. The perpetuals side layers in the standard mechanics of a derivatives exchange: price oracles, multiple order types, margining, liquidation and funding rates, with a real-world-asset focus consistent with Robinhood Chain's broader positioning around tokenized markets. Meridian is aimed at traders already active on Robinhood Chain who want RWA-linked leverage or event-outcome exposure without leaving the ecosystem, and at market makers who want to provide RFQ liquidity across its markets. Its documentation confirms the product mechanics in detail but is thinner on public performance history, since the current brand is only a few months old even though the underlying team and infrastructure predate the rebrand. Because Meridian only recently took its current form and Robinhood Chain itself only launched in mid-2026, the platform's liquidity depth and market breadth are still maturing relative to established derivatives venues, and prediction markets in general remain subject to inconsistent regulatory treatment across jurisdictions.
