What Lighthouse Protocol actually does.

Lighthouse Protocol is an open-source Solana program that adds assertion instructions to transactions, giving wallets and developers a way to verify that account states match expected values before a transaction is allowed to execute. If reality does not match the assertion, the transaction fails safely instead of draining a user's funds. The protocol is a defense against some of the most damaging attacks in the ecosystem: wallet draining, simulation spoofing, TOCTOU (time-of-check to time-of-use) exploits, and malicious dApps that show one outcome in simulation but execute another. By letting a transaction encode its own safety guarantees, Lighthouse turns the assertion into an on-chain tripwire that catches discrepancies at execution time. Lighthouse is primarily infrastructure for wallets and developers rather than something end users interact with directly, and it is already integrated with Phantom wallet. Its open-source nature means the security community can review the assertion logic, which is important for a tool whose whole purpose is to be trustworthy. For protective tooling, transparency is a feature, not just a nicety. The caveats are scope-related.
