Sablier is an on-chain token-streaming and vesting protocol, originally built on Ethereum and other EVM chains and later deployed to Solana as "SolSab." It lets projects distribute SPL and Token2022 tokens continuously over time rather than in lump sums, covering use cases like team and investor vesting, payroll, grants, and timelocks. On Solana, Sablier comprises two programs: Sablier Lockup, which creates vesting streams that progressively transfer token ownership to a recipient who can withdraw funds as they unlock, and Sablier Merkle Instant, which powers Merkle-tree airdrop campaigns claimable in a single transaction. Streamed tokens are held in a dedicated stream Associated Token Account (ATA) for each stream, differing from the contract-pooled model used on Ethereum. Sablier's Solana support covers linear and timelock stream shapes via the Lockup program. Some EVM features are not present on Solana, including non-transferable stream NFTs and cancel/withdraw hooks. Importantly, the Solana deployment is now in maintenance mode: the programs are no longer actively developed, and creating new streams or airdrop campaigns on Solana is no longer supported.
