What Avici actually does.
Avici is a self-custodial neobank built on Solana that lets users spend crypto directly through a Visa-branded card while retaining control of their funds. Instead of seed phrases, the Avici wallet uses account abstraction and passkeys with biometric (FaceID/TouchID) signing, giving a Web2-style login over a smart-contract wallet. Both virtual and physical Visa cards are issued and work via Apple Pay and Google Pay across Visa's global merchant network. Avici provides virtual bank accounts, EUR IBANs and USD ACH details, so users can wire fiat that is automatically converted to USDC and made spendable. It is Solana-native but supports assets across Ethereum and L2s such as Base and Arbitrum via its smart-wallet infrastructure, letting users hold and spend USDC, USDT, ETH, and SOL. The platform advertises no monthly or annual fees, no Avici card transaction fees, and 0% Avici FX fees, though Visa cross-border charges may still apply.
