Overview

What Fermi actually does.

Fermi (Fermi Labs) is a Solana-based decentralized exchange built around a fully on-chain central limit order book (CLOB) rather than the constant-product AMM model most Solana DEXs use. Its flagship product, Fermi Trade, targets instant finality and capital efficiency, letting market makers post resting limit orders and takers fill them with CEX-style price-time priority. A companion component, Continuum, is a modular sequencing layer designed to enforce fair transaction ordering and reduce the MEV and front-running that plague naive on-chain order books. Fermi's decentralized limit order book (DLOB) design separates collateral custody from order placement, so traders keep control of funds while still posting competitive quotes. The protocol launched into mainnet beta following a $1.2M pre-seed round from investors including Equilibrium and Big Brain VC, positioning itself as one of the newer high-performance order-book venues competing with Phoenix and OpenBook. Documentation, a whitepaper, and a live trading interface are published on the site.
