Overview

What MetaMask Solana Snap actually does.

MetaMask Solana Snap adds full Solana support to the MetaMask browser wallet through the Snaps extension framework. It lets the dominant EVM wallet operate on Solana without a separate app. Users can manage SOL and SPL tokens, connect to Solana dApps, and bridge between Solana and EVM networks, all from within MetaMask. The Snap (by Solflare) extends MetaMask's capabilities so multichain users don't have to switch wallets to use Solana. It targets the large base of existing MetaMask users who want to access Solana without adopting a new wallet, as a convenience bridge — where the experience and feature depth still sit a step removed from native Solana wallets.
