How it works
Every chart, wallet label, and token metric on these platforms is built from the same raw material: the Solana ledger. The difference is how each tool ingests, indexes, and presents it.
Step 1 — Ingest
Analytics tools pull raw on-chain data from Solana nodes — via RPC calls, a Geyser/gRPC stream, or their own validators. That feed carries every block, transaction, instruction, and token transfer as it's confirmed.
Step 2 — Index
Raw instructions are decoded and written into a queryable store: swaps become trades, transfers become balance changes, and pool state becomes price. This indexing step is what turns the firehose into charts, wallet labels, and token metrics.
On-chain vs price API
On-chain indexing derives price directly from DEX pool reserves and trade events, so it reflects what actually executed. A third-party price API is a convenience layer on top — faster to integrate, but only as accurate as its source. Solana-native tools lean on the former.
