How it works
A Telegram trading bot is a chat interface bolted onto a Solana wallet the bot controls. Understanding the four steps below — and who holds the key — tells you exactly what you're trusting.
1 · Wallet generation
On first use the bot generates a fresh Solana keypair and shows you the deposit address. You fund it by sending SOL from another wallet or an exchange. The bot stores the private key on its servers — this is the custodial model, and it's what every popular Telegram bot does.
2 · You message a command
You send the bot a token mint address (or tap a button) and tell it how much SOL to spend. The bot reads your saved settings — buy size, slippage tolerance, and priority fee — to assemble the order. No app to install; the chat is the UI.
3 · Build, sign, submit
The bot builds the swap transaction — routing through a DEX or aggregator — signs it with the private key it holds, attaches a priority fee to win block inclusion, and submits it to a Solana RPC (or a low-latency path) for execution. 'Block-zero' bots aim to land in the same block as the launch.
4 · Confirmation & exit
Once the transaction confirms, the bot reports your fill and tracks the position. Selling works the same way in reverse — you tap sell or set take-profit/stop-loss rules, and the bot builds and signs the exit transaction for you.
The custody trade-off
Because the bot holds the private key, you are trusting its infrastructure with the funds in that wallet — there is no hardware device or seed phrase in your hands. The standard mitigation is to keep only your active trading balance in the bot wallet and store the rest in a non-custodial wallet (or hardware wallet) where you control the keys. Some bots let you export the private key so you can move funds out at any time.

Ranges from 0.5% to 1% per transaction. On a 10 SOL buy, that's 0.05–0.1 SOL. If you're making dozens of trades daily, the fee difference between Banana Gun (0.5%) and a 1% bot saves you real money.
Speed
Block-zero bots land your transaction in the same block as the token launch. 'Fast' bots are quick but not sub-slot. For sniping new launches, block-zero is essential. For regular trading, 'fast' is fine.
Security
Every Telegram bot generates a wallet for you. Your private key never leaves the bot, but you're trusting their infrastructure. Use a dedicated wallet with limited funds — never your main holdings.
Copy trading
