Solana Payment Tools Compared: Solana Pay, MoonPay Commerce, Coinflow & Request Finance
Reviewed October 12, 2026 · 4 documented options · First-party sources linked below
Not every Solana payment tool solves the same merchant problem. A payment URL standard, hosted crypto checkout, fiat-to-stablecoin settlement platform and B2B finance account differ sharply in onboarding, custody, reconciliation and what the customer actually pays with.
This guide compares four well-documented approaches. It deliberately does not claim that their commercial prices, geography or integrations are identical. Check the exact merchant account, asset, payment route and jurisdiction before committing.
Short answer: which option fits?
Pick Solana Pay when you want wallet-native QR or payment URLs and can own verification. MoonPay Commerce fits merchants needing managed crypto paylinks or checkout. Coinflow fits platform businesses combining pay-ins and stablecoin settlement. Request Finance is worth checking for business payments and invoicing workflows involving supported Solana USDC rails.
Four options, side by side
Compare by need, not by a fabricated score| Product | Ideal workflow | Integration model | Important boundary |
|---|---|---|---|
| Solana PayOfficial website | SOL or SPL-token payment requests over standard URLs | Developer protocol: URLs, QR codes and wallet integrations | Merchant wallet and independent on-chain payment verification |
| MoonPay Commerce (formerly Helio)Official website | Crypto paylinks, checkout flows and subscription products | Merchant dashboard, no-code links and developer APIs/SDKs | Managed commerce service; Solana among supported chains |
| CoinflowOfficial website | Card, bank and crypto payment orchestration | Hosted components, API/SDK integration and merchant onboarding | Managed payment service with business eligibility and operational controls |
| Request Finance Official website | Business account payments including supported Solana USDC rails | Business finance workflow rather than standalone retail QR checkout | Account-level asset and network eligibility; compliance requirements apply |
The comparison describes documented products, not tested latency, throughput, market share or universal fee guarantees.
Methodology and verification
We checked vendor-first setup or network-support documentation on 12 October 2026. Four products were selected to illustrate distinct merchant use cases, not to rank processing volume or offer invented fee comparisons. Prices, eligibility, settlement options and custody depend on the product and business setup; confirm them directly.
Each product links to the provider's own documentation. Check current pricing, eligibility, tool permissions and network support before relying on any comparison for production.
Where each product fits — and where it does not
The differences below matter more than arbitrary best-to-worst rankings. Features are based on vendor documentation, not synthetic scores or hands-on speed tests.
Solana Pay
Best fit: Wallet-native links and merchant-controlled flows
Solana Pay is an open request format, not a hosted payment processor. A merchant can encode a recipient, amount, token and reference into a URL or QR code, then validate the resulting transaction. It suits developers willing to own checkout UX and reconciliation.
Documented strengths
- Interoperable standard for wallet-native payment URLs and QR codes.
- Direct wallet-to-wallet transfers without a mandatory hosted merchant account.
- Flexible reference and memo fields for payment reconciliation.
Check before choosing: You must build or integrate transaction confirmation, duplicate-order protection, support and any required compliance. A signed or submitted transaction is not itself proof of successful payment.
MoonPay Commerce (formerly Helio)
Best fit: Hosted crypto checkout and quick merchant links
MoonPay Commerce is the successor to Helio's merchant checkout platform. The current product supports paylinks, crypto checkout, subscriptions, embedded integrations and Solana payments. These managed features reduce custom checkout work compared with implementing a bare Solana Pay URL yourself.
Documented strengths
- No-code payment-link and checkout setup.
- Developer documentation for embedded merchant integrations.
- Supports Solana among multiple payment networks.
Check before choosing: Verify fees, settlement assets, checkout options and country support in your merchant account; hosted checkout is not the same as a self-managed, open protocol.
Coinflow
Best fit: Platform checkout with pay-ins and USDC settlement
Coinflow targets software platforms and marketplaces that require merchant pay-ins, payouts and stablecoin settlement. Its published documentation includes Solana USDC checkout and settlement paths, alongside conventional payment methods.
Documented strengths
- Combines fiat payment methods and stablecoin settlement workflows.
- Documentation covers Solana checkout and contract-related USDC flows.
- Platform-focused checkout and payout infrastructure.
Check before choosing: This is a managed provider rather than a raw Solana protocol. Integration, supported payment methods, custody, underwriting and commercial terms require individual confirmation.
Request Finance
Best fit: B2B payments and treasury operations
Request Finance approaches stablecoins from accounts-payable and business operations rather than quick consumer checkout. Its Business Account documentation lists USDC on Solana among supported payment networks, making it relevant to teams paying suppliers or managing business disbursements.
Documented strengths
- Business-oriented payments rather than only storefront checkout.
- Explicitly documented Solana USDC payment-network support.
- Useful comparison point for invoices and operational workflows.
Check before choosing: Do not assume every deposit, pay-in or jurisdiction supports the same rail. Check supported deposit methods separately from outbound payments.
How to choose in practice
Start with who pays and who reconciles
If a connected wallet pays SOL or USDC directly to you, a Solana Pay URL can be enough provided your app checks the final transaction. If you need a checkout dashboard, customer notices and configurable commerce flows, compare MoonPay Commerce. If users pay by cards or bank transfer and you need payment orchestration, inspect Coinflow. If the actual task is paying business counterparties, inspect Request Finance.
Distinguish card acceptance from stablecoin settlement
'Supports Solana' can mean the customer pays on Solana, the merchant receives USDC on Solana, or a back-office payout can use that network. Those are separate requirements. Request an explicit funds-flow diagram, list of supported tokens and settlement networks, chargeback policy and contractual provider role before shipping.
Validate confirmation and compliance end to end
Never grant access after receiving an unverified transfer request or an unconfirmed signature. Validate recipient, mint, amount, commitment/finality and order reference. For a managed provider, test failure callbacks, refunds, customer identity requirements and regional availability.
Frequently asked questions
Is Solana Pay a payment gateway or a protocol?
Solana Pay is a protocol for encoding transfer and transaction requests in wallet-compatible URLs. It does not by itself operate your store, reconcile orders or provide card processing.
Does MoonPay Commerce support Solana?
Yes. Its official merchant documentation lists Solana among supported blockchain networks. Available settlement assets and product settings should still be checked inside the merchant account.
Can Coinflow settle payments using Solana USDC?
Coinflow's developer documentation contains Solana USDC checkout and wallet/contract flows. Confirm the exact settlement model, fee schedule and approved business use case with the provider.
Is Request Finance appropriate for a consumer checkout widget?
It is better compared as a business payments and account workflow. Request's documentation lists USDC on Solana for supported outbound payments; do not confuse that with a general-purpose retail checkout integration.
