Solana AI Agent Frameworks Compared: Solana Agent Kit, ElizaOS, Coinbase AgentKit & Rig
Reviewed October 12, 2026 · 4 documented options · First-party sources linked below
Building an AI agent that can act on Solana involves more than adding a chatbot. You must decide how the model calls tools, which wallet signs transactions, how permissions are enforced, and whether the framework itself manages memory, messaging or deployment.
These four open-source projects occupy different layers: a Solana-first action toolkit, a full agent runtime, a cross-chain tool-adapter SDK and a Rust on-chain agent integration. They are representative choices, not a measured popularity leaderboard.
Short answer: which option fits?
Choose Solana Agent Kit for Solana-native protocol actions, ElizaOS for a broader agent runtime with plugins, Coinbase AgentKit for framework-agnostic wallets and on-chain action adapters including Solana wallet providers, or Rig onchain kit for a Rust integration with explicit signer context.
Four options, side by side
Compare by need, not by a fabricated score| Product | Primary capabilities | Languages / architecture | Wallet / execution model |
|---|---|---|---|
| Solana Agent Kit (SendAI)Official website | Solana DeFi, tokens, NFTs, transfers and protocol actions | TypeScript and Python toolkits with protocol plugins | The integrating application provides wallet and RPC configuration |
| ElizaOSOfficial website | Agent runtime, orchestration and plugin-driven integrations | Extensible TypeScript/JavaScript agent runtime and plugin ecosystem | Solana wallet functions depend on installed plugins and approval configuration |
| Coinbase AgentKitOfficial website | Agent wallet providers and blockchain action adapters; Solana wallet integrations are documented | TypeScript and Python libraries; framework extensions and wallet providers | App-configured signer: CDP, Solana keypair or compatible wallet; action availability varies by chain |
| Rig onchain kit Official website | Rust agents with Solana/EVM tools and signer context | Rust library integrating the Rig agent ecosystem | Explicit signer context, including local signers and wallet integrations |

Methodology and verification
We reviewed each project's official repository and integration documentation on 12 October 2026. These four are representative, materially different implementation approaches, not a ranking by usage, safety or trading returns. We excluded the previously considered GOAT SDK from current recommendations because its official repository is archived and no longer maintained. Production safety still depends on your wallet, policies and runtime configuration.
Each product links to the provider's own documentation. Check current pricing, eligibility, tool permissions and network support before relying on any comparison for production.
Where each product fits — and where it does not
The differences below matter more than arbitrary best-to-worst rankings. Features are based on vendor documentation, not synthetic scores or hands-on speed tests.
Solana Agent Kit (SendAI)
Best fit: Solana-first protocol tools for existing agents
SendAI's Solana Agent Kit exposes actions across Solana protocols so developers can attach on-chain capabilities to an AI agent. It works well when transaction or data tools matter more than an all-in-one agent personality or hosting stack.
Documented strengths
- Focused catalog of Solana-native token, DeFi and NFT actions.
- Framework integration for established AI tool-calling workflows.
- Modular action plugins instead of a single fixed agent experience.
Check before choosing: The action toolkit does not itself make every execution safe. Protect signers, validate transaction intents and configure RPC and protocol permissions yourself.
ElizaOS
Best fit: Full agent applications with memory and channels
ElizaOS is broader than a Solana SDK: its runtime manages agent behavior and plugins across messaging, memory and other integrations. Solana capabilities are available through its ecosystem, making it a candidate for teams that need an entire agent application rather than just on-chain function calls.
Documented strengths
- Includes a general agent runtime and messaging/memory primitives.
- Plugin architecture supports non-blockchain integrations.
- Solana wallet operations can be combined with wider agent workflows.
Check before choosing: The feature surface depends on plugin versions and runtime setup. Verify exactly which Solana actions are enabled and how approvals are enforced.
Coinbase AgentKit
Best fit: Wallet and on-chain tool integrations across agent frameworks
Coinbase AgentKit equips existing AI agent runtimes with wallet providers and modular on-chain actions. Its official TypeScript documentation lists Solana wallet providers, including CDP V2 Solana, keypair-based Solana wallets and Privy, while many example actions remain EVM-centric. It is therefore an option for teams needing a cross-chain wallet/action foundation—not a guarantee that every advertised action runs on Solana.
Documented strengths
- Official TypeScript API documents Solana wallet-provider configuration and supported networks.
- Framework adapters and modular action providers integrate with existing agent applications.
- Wallet-provider choices make signer design an explicit part of the implementation.
Check before choosing: Solana wallet support does not imply that every AgentKit action or Python feature is Solana-compatible. Check the selected version's action-provider chain support, key custody and permissions before production.
Rig onchain kit
Best fit: Rust teams designing controlled on-chain agents
Rig onchain kit targets developers comfortable with Rust and deliberate signer handling. It combines modular LLM tools with Solana and EVM operations and emphasizes isolating signing authority within an agent execution context.
Documented strengths
- Rust-native development for teams already using Rig.
- Dedicated on-chain toolkit covering Solana and EVM.
- Documented signer context and extensible tools.
Check before choosing: A Rust toolkit is a stronger fit for custom systems than for teams seeking a low-code bot. Audit its dependency lifecycle and signing configuration before production use.
How to choose in practice
Decide whether you need a runtime or a tool library
If your team already has a reasoning loop, a tool layer such as Solana Agent Kit or Coinbase AgentKit can add blockchain capabilities without replacing the runtime. If you need a broader agent runtime, investigate ElizaOS. For a Rust-centric stack with custom signer architecture, inspect Rig onchain kit.
Treat wallet permissions as product architecture
Store signer credentials outside prompts, whitelist allowed programs or methods, limit maximum spend per action and require approvals for irreversible writes. A toolkit advertising token transfers does not guarantee safe autonomous trading. Test transaction building, simulation and failure recovery separately.
MCP servers can complement every agent framework
MCP is a standardized interface for exposing external tools; an agent framework is the broader reasoning and execution environment. Solana Agent Kit, ElizaOS, Coinbase AgentKit and Rig onchain kit can be combined with documentation or data services if your selected runtime supports the integration.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between Solana Agent Kit and ElizaOS?
Solana Agent Kit is primarily a Solana blockchain action toolkit. ElizaOS provides a broader agent runtime with plugins and integrations. One can be part of an agent system while the other can organize that system.
Which framework should a Rust developer evaluate?
Rig onchain kit provides a Rust approach with Solana and EVM capabilities and explicit signer context. It is worth evaluating when Rust-native control is more important than a ready-made no-code interface.
Do these frameworks guarantee safe or profitable automated trading?
No. They provide building blocks, not trading performance guarantees. Security, risk limits, quote verification, transaction simulation, signer custody and live-data quality must be engineered and tested independently.
Does Coinbase AgentKit support Solana?
Yes. Its official TypeScript documentation describes Solana CDP, keypair and Privy wallet providers for supported Solana networks. Verify each intended action separately: wallet support does not mean every EVM-first action works on Solana.
